30 Days on the (mini) Farm- Day 29

Today was beautiful! And guess what I did???
I got to hang my clothes and bed sheets on my new clothes line!!! YEAH!!! And as I was making my bed, I was sniffin' in the smell of freshness. I can't wait to go to bed...
Our day started, when the boys and I went to pick strawberries. And the boys actually were a very big help. We picked 3 boxes, and hubby was great and got all of the strawberries cut up as soon as I got home~

And guess what WE had for dinner tonight??? STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE! My favorite! Hubby took about 2/3 and just cut the stems off and we froze them whole for later. And the other third, I am going to make into freezer jam. I can't wait! And if I can, I would like to go and get more. We will definitely go through these fast.

Tomorrow, I will have some pics of 3 new additions to our (mini) farm! I bet you can't wait to find out what we have now! ;) See you then!

Mmmmm... if I remember right, the freezer jam does not set up as good as the regular. I usually do the freezer jam and it is runnier, but delish! I think if you have the regular kind (sealed jars, for shelf) Maybe it will set-up after a while??? I use sure-jel, and that usually does pretty well. I can't think of anything that you could have done wrong, beside the sure-jel being older???

Anyone else have any ideas???

ohhhhh I love strawberries!! I can probably eat a flat in one day. Just sprinkle a little sugar to prevent them from turning color and add some whip cream.

now...I'm looking forward to seeing what other goodies you all have from your garden!

Yes! A fellow strawberry-picker! We are going in another week. Can't wait to start making jam (not forgetting this time to put aside some for Christmas gifts).

My boys love strawberries. Try them scones. My favorite season for picking fruit is blueberry. We used to do that on my birthday all the time. Then you make Blueberry crunch--double yum!

Ooh, yummy. We have a self-pick place near us that I've been meaning to take the kids. I bet they'd have a great time!
