The area is Loudonville, Ohio. It is a very small town, and we had camped there in '04 (great detective work Joy!), and we were looking into buying a log cabin from a place that has their company based near there.
So the first picture with the water wheel was at the Velvet Ice Cream place in Utica, Ohio. They have tours and everything! And an ice cream shop, and petting zoo, train ride... good stuff (if you aren't lactose intolerant... =( ) Here is a link to their site.
And the second picture, of the "castle". Is Landoll's Mohican Castle. There is about 1,100 acres of woods and these people have a kind-of bed and breakfast place. There is a restaurant, a place for conferences and meetings. You can also tour the grounds, which are planted very nicely, for $5.for adults and kids are free. We were just driving around and found this place and never really knew what it was until yesterday, when I did a search for it!
The area is very nice, and it isn't very far away from where we live in the north east corner of Indiana. It would take about 3 hours to get there.
