New on the Farm...

This last weekend, my husband and father-in-law worked at getting posts in for our new pasture areas, for our new sheep that will be coming soon! I helped a little by driving the post pounder attached to our truck, around to the right spots. I guess I was helping... as I waited for the post top be pounded, I read my book about raising sheep. =)

Yes, this will be a new adventure for our family. My husband grew up on a chicken farm, and I grew up on a cat farm. Just kidding, we did have like a thousand cats though, and when I was very young we had chickens and pigs.

But sheep, we have never had. But we are young (by some standards), and we are willing to try something new.

Here is the hard workers, pounding the posts...

Yes, they even got dirty...

Here is a new area of pasture with the new fencing:

So, we are well on our way. Now to put up the actual fence...

Oh, and soon to come (I know you will wait in suspense for this...), MY NEW BARN BOOTS. No, I have never even thought about owning barn boots before. I had old shoes that I wore into the barn but no BARN BOOTS. Ah, you'll love 'em. I can't wait to show you. I already have chicken poop on them...

Your new fence posts look great! From one farm girl to another...thats SO exciting! I raised sheep in 4-H for 10 years and you will love them. I always had the "raising sheep the modern way" book back then. If you have any questions let me know and I MIGHT be able to answer them! :)

Brooke~ I hope our sheep don't fall over and die! Maybe he will see after we have ours, how nice they are, and how they don't fall over and die. Then maybe he will finally let you have one! ;)
