This Year's FIRST Jacob Babies!

It finally happened!  We have our first Jacob babies of 2011!  Lindsay gave birth to 2 baby girls yesterday afternoon, and we discovered them about 20-30 minutes later!

This was pretty exciting because this is the first time we actually PAIRED the male, Puck, and Lindsay together last Fall.  This is the first time we have ever been involved in the whole process.

We were "rewarded" with 2 precious little baby girls!  YAY!

Check out some of the photos of our sweet little girls!!!

They are SUPER cute and are already running.  Lindsay is being a good mother as usual, being very attentive to them.  What do you think about the names Faith and Hope?   Now, how to tell them apart.... hmmm...

I also have some pictures of our little goats who are now 3 weeks old!  They will be coming soon!

Have a beautiful day!

How exciting! This year was our first year to have lambs on our farm! It was the most amazing thing to watch! They are all sold now but we are getting ready to re-breed our ewes! I can't wait for our next lambing season!

They are beautiful, and I love the names. Out of curiosity, I want to ask, what do you do with your Jacob sheep, do you have them for fiber, milk, meat? Maybe you already answered this question in an earlier post I haven't read.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of them, their white is so amazingly white.

Jewel- Right now, we are using our Jacobs for the fiber. I still have the wool I collected last year, and have to take it in yet, but wanted to wait until we sheared them this year (I do that myself, by hand). I CAN NOT wait to get my own yarn made from our Jacobs. In the future we MAY use them for meat, but definitely not what I want to do with them... Primarily, I have them for the heritage aspect! Wool is just a bonus! :)
